About Me
My name is Fiona Lowenstein, and I am a high school student. I started Barbara's Angels in 2008 when I was fourteen. My interest in politics was first sparked during the Bush vs. Gore election in 2000. I continued to follow politics, writing a paper on women in politics when I was still in middle school. Through my research, I noticed some startling statistics and realized women are extremely underrepresented in government and leadership positions. My site is devoted to educating girls my age about politics, women's issues, and feminism with the hope that my generation will bring a new wave of female leaders! I've also blogged for Woosh!, the Girls Leadership Institute's blog, and the Huffington Post.
